Your old Super Nintendo cartridges are at risk

While snes-carts-batteriesthe market for old Nintendo games isn’t what it was, say, 20 years ago, plenty of people still love the older systems. But classic cartridges, unfortunately, don’t exactly age well.

The SNES, for example, turns 23 this year. While most of today’s games should have no trouble surviving that long thanks to their use of DVD and Blu-ray formats, the older cartridge technology is suffering.

While he’s been playing Space Invaders since he was 11 years old, the Flemington, NJ arcade owner had the best game of his life earlier this month. The best game, in fact, of anyone’s life.

Dragon’s Lair creator returns to video games

It has been 28 years since Don Bluth made a video game, but the film and gaming legend is ready to hit “play” once more.

Bluth is teaming with Square One Games for Tapper World Tour, an iPhone/iPad game that updates the classic Tapper arcade quarter-gobbler and blends it with Bluth’s distinctive animation style.
