MLB Games to Stream Live on PS3

Major League Baseball is coming to the PlayStation3,but it has nothing to do with videogames. Sony and MLB Advanced Media have announced a deal that will see live games streamed live over the console effective today, Thursday.

The service is a strategic expansion for both parties. MLB hopes to dramatically grow the number of subscribers to its online service, while Sony continues to grow the PS3 beyond its gaming roots.

Microsoft and Sony have been waging war over whose gaming system has more mass-market features since the beginning of this generation. Score the latest round to Sony. 

The company and Major League Baseball have struck a deal that will result in MLB games streaming live via the PS3 effective today. To watch ‘em, though, you’ll need a subscription to MLB.com – and that will run you over $100 per year.
