Report: EA and Comcast exploring video game streaming partnership

Want EA-Comcastto play Madden on your big screen TV, but don’t have an Xbox One, PlayStation 4 or Wii U? Comcast might have a solution.

The cable giant and video game publisher Electronic Arts are reportedly finalizing an agreement that would let customers of the cable giant stream EA games through their cable box.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will blow stuff up on November 4

It’s COD-AWnot exactly a surprise that a new Call of Duty game will be launching in November, but there’s something about the upcoming Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare that seems a bit different.

It might be the tone, which appears to be darker than previous games in the series (which were hardly chuckle-fests themselves). Or it could be the prominent presence of a fully-rendered Kevin Spacey, whose starring role in the game was foreshadowed yesterday.

One thing’s for sure: It’s not the name.

John Carmack accused of stealing tech for Oculus Rift

The carmack-riftparting of the ways between rock star developer John Carmack and Bethesda Games parent company ZeniMax Media has gone sour.

Carmack’s former employer is accusing the now-CTO of Oculus of taking intellectual property with him when he left to join the virtual reality startup.

Nintendo to offer pricier Mario Kart 8 Wii U bundle

Nintendo’s MarioKart8counting on its biggest game of the year to spur people to buy a Wii U.

The company, somewhat predictably, plans to bundle Mario Kart 8 with its console system, throwing in the now familiar Wii steering wheel and a Wii controller as well.

It’s a move that makes plenty of sense. Mario Kart might be familiar territory, but it has historically been a system mover for the company. What’s baffling us is the price.

Nintendo to skip E3 press conference, hosts Super Smash Bros. tourney instead

Nintendo’s Waluigilooking to smash up E3.

While Wii U sales languish and fans wonder where the big games are for the system, Nintendo has announced that it will once again bypass the traditional E3 press conference circuit, instead hosting its own ‘digital event’ that will be broadcast directly to fans on Tuesday June 10 at 9:00 am, PST.

‘Angry Birds’ creator’s profits cut in half

The Angry birdsbirds aren’t the only angry things at Rovio headquarters today. Executives likely aren’t too thrilled, either.

Profits at the studio behind the Angry Birds juggernaut fell by nearly 50 percent in 2013, sliding from $76.8 million to $37.3 million. That drop came despite more money actually coming into the company’s coffers. Revenues were up by just under $5 million last year.
