Roku has been something of a trailblazer in the 
cord-cutting world, but it has had a relatively small following since it has historically only been sold online. That’s about to change.
Starting today, Best Buy customers are able to purchase the Roku XD in stores. So are shoppers at BJ’s Wholesale club, Fry’s Electronics and Radio Shack.

the benefits of expanding its online game streaming subscription package beyond the PC, the National Hockey League is getting in the game.
The NHL has announced its NHL GameCenter Live service is now available on the PlayStation 3, Roku and Boxee. The service, which was initially announced Oct. 5, lets subscribers watch up to 40 out-of-market games per week as well as classic matches.

It’s hard to turn the corner these days without someone thrusting a new gadget for your television at you. Apple and Google are among the more familiar names exploring the space, but they’re just the tip of the iceberg. The arena also includes aspirants such as Roku, Boxee, Seagate, Asus and Western Digital. And the three major vidgame consoles are already delivering content.
Hulu seems to be making noises that 
it could be nearing the end of its beta period on its Hulu Plus service. The company has announced another pair of set-top boxes that will begin carrying the service soon.
Tivo has signed on with the company to bring Hulu Plus to its Premiere DVRs in the coming months, and all Roku streaming media players will begin carrying it this fall.
