Ubisoft’s Guillemot: New consoles are overdue
With
the current console generation in the midst of its eighth year — and retail game sales sliding for the past seven months — there’s little argument that the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii have become a bit long in the tooth. There might be plenty of power left to exploit from their components, but from a consumer standpoint, people are ready for something new.

Upcoming films based on video games
The
history of films based on video games is a spotty one — and that’s being generous. Even big-budget flicks like Angelina Jolie’s “Tomb Raider” or Jake Gyllenhaal’s “Prince of Persia” still left fans disappointed.
But after something of a break, Hollywood is gearing up to once again try its luck with video game source material. Which sound promising, and which should see a preemptive ‘game over’ screen?

Released in April on Xbox Live, Fez garnered terrific reviews from critics. But as players explored the game, they found a number of issues. Save files were being corrupted and the game was crashing regularly. A fix was issued last month, but it was quickly yanked because it reportedly caused even more problems.

Apptastic: Inkflow
Sure
you can type notes on your iPhone, but there’s something about hand writing them that makes them easier to remember. Inkflow is a tool that lets you take handwritten notes – and illustrations – on your iPhone and save them for posterity. It’s one of the few times a stylus comes in handy with the iPhone, but it’s a great way to jot down ideas before they evaporate.
