So when The Scotsman reported that the upcoming Grand Theft Auto V had cost a stunning £170 million ($266 million) to develop and market, that raised a few eyebrows.

Rockstar finally pulled back the curtain a little on Tuesday, announcing via its company blog that GTA V will launch worldwide in the spring of 2013. Pre-orders for the game, which will be playable on the Xbox 360 and PS3 (but not, apparently, on the Wii U), will begin on November 5.
Eight days after 
letting the world know “Grand Theft Auto V” was on the way, Rockstar Games has given us our first look at the title – and it looks like fans of the series will be pretty happy with what the studio has been working on.
The game, set in a Los Angeles clone (Santa Monica is dubbed Pleasure Pier and Hollywood becomes Vinewood), seems set in a modern era, with homelessness and foreclosures highlighted.
Get ready to 
play in Rockstar’s sandbox once again.
The developer has formally announced that Grand Theft Auto V is coming, though in true Rockstar fashion, that’s about all it has to say so far.
