Tebow’s out in race for ‘Madden NFL 13′ cover

There won’t be any Tebowing on the cover of this year’s Madden.

The New York Jets quarterback, who was the odds-on favorite to front the next version of EA’s football game, was eliminated in the first round of fan voting in this year’s seeded bracket tournament. Houston running back Arian Foster defeated the media darling in a close matchup.

Rumor: Next PlayStation coming in 2013

There have been plenty of leaks, whispers and rumors about the next Xbox for a few months now, but there hasn’t been a lot of talk about Sony’s plans for the next generation.

Kotaku, though, claims to have uncovered some inside information about the system that, on the surface, makes it sound like the next generation console race is going to be a tight one — and begin next year.

Takeover Battle Looms for Publicly Traded Porn Company

Despite a widely publicized downturn in porn industry profits over the past few years, investors still think there’s money to be made there – so much so that a bidding war has erupted for one of the few publicly traded companies with ties to the adult industry.

New Frontier Media, which oversees nine adult-themed pay-per-view networks, including XTSY, TEN and Penthouse TV, has received a pair of unsolicited takeover offers this month as the company’s stock has hovered under $2 per share for over a year.

Mitt Romney aide Eric Fehrnstrom’s offhand comment likening his boss’ presidential campaign to an Etch A Sketch is being referred to as a “disaster” among political pundits.

Romney’s opponents are taunting the candidate openly, with Rick Santorum tweeting a photo of himself playing with the toy and Newt Gingrich bringing one out at a rally.  It’s ballooned into an internet meme, and the makers of Etch A Sketch are seeing sales skyrocket.

Angry Birds Space tops 10 million downloads in three days

The Angry Birds have a pretty good reason to be happy this week.

Rovio’s juggernaut game franchise is showing absolutely no signs of waning popularity, with the developer tweeting that the most recent release, Angry Birds Space, has racked up 10 million downloads in less than three days.

With Microsoft’s announcement that it has no plans to even mention its next generation console system at this year’s E3, the annual video game trade show has gotten a bit less interesting.

It is, in some ways, a confusing decision. While no one expected the next Xbox to come out this year, publishers traditionally begin beating the drum for new systems about 18 months out – and there’s no indication Microsoft has pushed the system to 2014. Also, with the company talking to developers now, the specs for the device have leaked out faster than water through a colander.
